And then came spring

Spring has returned to Paris and cleanses me of all my woes. I found new inspiration and a new job. I joined a writers workshop and read voraciously. I subscribed to The New Yorker, a gift to myself for making it through a tough winter.

Colors are brighter, spirits are lighter and energy higher. I have taken to long city walks and visits to the green places in Paris. The terraces of cafés are full of life. People are shedding layers and slipping on sandals.

Fruit stands are selling cherries, peaches, apricots, nectarines and watermelon. I return to eating salads everyday and lunching on sandwiches in the park.

Les Ponts de Mai holidays gave everyone time to relax and unwind. The Cannes Film Festival swept in and gave us the best movies of the year, which we watched on many a day off.

Life is suddenly sweet and poetic. Change is in the air and comes in strong gusts. Inspiration is the sunshine peeking through the clouds. Renewal is the rain that storms in and out from March to June. Spring in Paris is a truly human time.
